Welcome to Maple-Ain Holsteins. The farm is owned and operated by the Hunter family. This fifth generation family farm is located 2 km south of Smiths Falls, Ontario in Rideau Lakes township, about 30 mins North of the 401. The farm consists of approximately 450 acres to grow the entire forage base for the 60 purebred Holstein herd and the family's flock of 40 purebred Suffolk and Leicester sheep. The purebred Holstein herd was founded in 1955 by Donald and Lois Hunter when they purchased Holstein at the herd dispersal of Harold Poole, Lois' Father. Over the next 5 decades the Maple-Ain herd was develop into a two time Master Breeder recipient (1990, 1997), winning numerous production and show acclamations along the way. Today Gerald with son Hugh strive to continue the excellence in agriculture that has been laid before them.
